In 2022, The Sports division of what was then the Sumpfdeutsche Institut fuer Normung (SdIN), invited a large group of international sports coaches, athletes, fashion designers, referees and typographers to a seminar in Neuschanz (Gr), to see if a common ground (indeed; a norm if you will) could be found considering the typography on sports outfits.
For many years, referees had been complaining about the poor legibility of the typefaces used on the shirts of the players in a wide variety of sports. A task force of key players in the field was selected and after three years of analyzing all the different angles the professionals brought to the table, and subsequently realizing there were very few typographers or type designers willing to release a design without being able to make money off it, the Institute asked local type designer Tup Wanders, (known for his slap-dash typedesign, punkrock music and for making all his fonts free and open source) to come up with a design. After doing extensive research into the use of sports typography, watching hundreds of hours of a wide variety of sports footage, even having a go at some of the sports himself, a sore and bruised Wanders surprised the SdIN by finishing this free, open source global definition of the Sportveranstaltungenindustrie-norm in under 3 days.
All the special characters and diacritics languages that use Latin script have been included. And better still, it's completely free, rights-free as well, for all athletes and sports fans and organizations to use. Until 2030, when there will be a next seminar in Neuschanz to see if we can improve.

Im Jahr 2022 lud die Sportabteilung des damaligen Sddeutschen Instituts fr Normung (SdIN) eine groe Gruppe internationaler Sporttrainer, Athleten, Modedesigner, Schiedsrichter und Typografen zu einem Seminar nach Neuschanz (Gr) ein, um zu prfen, ob hinsichtlich der Typografie auf Sportbekleidung eine gemeinsame Basis (ja, eine Norm, wenn man so will) gefunden werden knnte.
